Terms & Conditions
Last updated 3 November 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and Clevedon Community when you use the app. Day-to-day house rules are in the Terms of Use. This is a plain-English summary for a small community app, not formal legal advice.
Using the app
You can browse the town board without an account. Creating a post, commenting, RSVPing, or adding a business needs a sign-in. You must give an email address you can access, and you are responsible for keeping your sign-in private.
Acceptable use
Use the board as a neighbour. Do not post spam, scams, or the same advert over and over. Do not pretend to be another person or business, and do not post anything unlawful, hateful, or that you do not have the right to share.
Businesses
If you add a listing, you are responsible for it. That includes the description, prices, photos, booking link, payment link, and any quote you send. Clevedon Community does not employ the businesses on the board and does not check every claim they make. A customer’s contract is with the business, not with us.
Removing content
You can delete your own posts. We, including a town moderator, can remove posts, comments, events, or listings that break these terms, cause a problem for the town, or that we are asked to remove for a legal reason. We can also close an account that keeps breaking the rules.
Liability
The board is provided as a community noticeboard. We do not promise that it will always be available, or that a post, event, or listing is accurate. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by another resident’s content, a business listing, or a short interruption to the app. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, or any duty that English law does not allow us to limit.
Law and contact
These terms use the laws of England and Wales. Questions go to hello@knowyourlocal.co.uk. We may update this page, and the date at the top will change when we do.
